Jemison High School basketball player Nathan Johns made his college decision official during a signing ceremony on Jan. 17.
The senior will be attending Huntingdon College.
He said he was drawn to the school because of “how welcoming they felt.”
“Their coaches almost seemed like friends more than coaches,” Johns said. “It’s somewhere where I feel like I would be safe and always have someone to talk to. Their basketball program seemed good, they seemed well coached.”
He first picked up the sport at 4 years old and has played for JHS all four years.
While he has played multiple positions, Johns said he has mostly played center, until the past few years when he “played out on the wing.”
